Because the container is holding scrap rather than general waste, the economics are different: you are paid for what goes in it. For metal-only loads there is typically no hire charge at all.

For metal-only loads, usually not — the value of the material covers it. If a container is likely to take mixed or general waste we will quote a clear rate before it is delivered so there are no surprises.
Typically within 24 hours, and often same day if you call early. On live programmes we can set a standing swap schedule so an empty arrives as the full one leaves and your team is never waiting.
If the container is going on a public highway rather than on your own land, yes — a permit from the relevant London borough is required. We will tell you what is needed and can arrange it as part of the job.
Ferrous and non-ferrous metal of any mix. What must not go in is general waste, hazardous material, gas bottles, sealed vessels or anything containing fuel or oil. If in doubt, ring and ask before it goes in.
