This material should never be weighed in as mixed scrap. We handle it separately, arrange assay where the value justifies it, and pay on verified content rather than a guess made on a yard floor.

Precious Metals — your questions answered
On actual content, not appearance. Depending on quantity and type, that means either a sampled assay or a recognised grading standard. Either way you see the basis of the figure before anything is agreed.
Yes. Cats are priced on type and on the platinum, palladium and rhodium content of the honeycomb. Proof of lawful origin is required without exception — catalytic converter theft is prosecuted and we will not buy without provenance.
Not a fixed one, but assay costs mean very small parcels are often better accumulated first. Tell us what you have and roughly how much, and we will advise honestly whether to collect now or hold until there is more.
Typically a few working days once the material is sampled, depending on the type and the laboratory. Where a formal assay is not warranted we price on established grading standards and settle immediately.
